Every boarding guest gets a spacious private suite, consistent supervised play, and staff trained to monitor behavior and energy - not just keep dogs alive until you get back. When you pick your dog up, they should be rested and happy, not traumatized and shut down.

What to Bring for Your Dog's Stay
REQUIRED — Vaccination Records
- Dogs: Current Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper vaccinations required
- Cats: Current Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations required
- Proof must come from your veterinarian (vet receipt or certificate). Rabies tags on collars are not acceptable proof.
- No unvaccinated animals will be admitted to the facility.
Food
- Bring pre-bagged, pre-measured food per meal, per pet. If your dog eats twice a day, bring one bag per meal.
- Do not bring large bags of food.
- Southern Pawz will provide pre-bagged meals for $5 per pet if needed.
Allowed Items
- Treats from home in an airtight, labeled container
- One small blanket or favorite squeaky toy in a bag labeled with your dog's name and your name (so we can return it at checkout)
Not Allowed
- Stuffed animals
- Dog beds — comfortable bedding is provided
Medications
- Bring all medications with official labeling: medication name, dosage, prescriber name, and administration instructions
- Must include a safe method of delivery. Staff cannot force medication on any animal.
- This is required by NC State law.
Boarding Requirements Every Owner Should Know
- All dogs must have current Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations. All cats must have current Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations. Proof from your veterinarian is required.
- All animals entering the facility must be free of fleas and ticks and on a monthly preventative. Animals found to have parasites will be placed in isolation and treated at the owner's expense.
- Space for unaltered (intact) dogs is limited. Dogs that go into season during their stay will incur an additional fee.
- Owners with animals experiencing chronic or acute illness are encouraged to obtain veterinary clearance and proper medication before boarding.
- All medications must be officially labeled with: medication name, dosage, prescriber, and administration instructions, plus a safe delivery method. Required by NC State law.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off Hours
Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Saturday-Sunday: Drop-off and pick-up available 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM only
Late Pick-Up Policy
Pets must be picked up by 12:00 PM (noon) Monday through Friday, and by 10:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Failure to pick up by these times will result in an additional night's boarding charge.
Holiday Closures
No drop-off, pick-up, or lobby services are available on the following holidays:
New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, President's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day
Refund Policy
There are no refunds on any services. There are no refunds for early pick-up. All sales are final.

Southern Pawz welcomes dogs and cats with special needs and those requiring extra care. We are equipped to administer medications, give injections, feed raw food or special diets, feed multiple times a day, provide extra comfort during storms, and handle most other individual requirements your pet has. Special needs make us special. If your pet has a specific need, contact our staff before arrival so we can work together to give them the extra care they require.

Out and About
Extra outside breaks with exploration time on a long line. Your dog gets exposed to different surfaces, smells, and movement beyond the standard potty break.
Massage and Touch
Stress and anxiety reduction through different touch techniques. Can be combined with a bathing experience for dogs who benefit from calming sensory work.
Water Play
For dogs who love the water. Staff sets up a baby pool with toys and lets the splashing begin.
Hot or Cold Treats
A variety of hot or cold enrichment treats. Cold options include frozen Kongs, frozen ice blocks filled with kibble, rice, yogurt, or dog treats. Hot options include warmed broth, bones, or heated blankets and towels.
